Hey hey! Who would believe i was a battletech fan – before i even knew it was battletech. I found a battletech axe man toy from the cartoon series – must of been a fan when i was young – cant remember. Anyhoo – it was missing a head so i thought i would turn it into a SOTR mech. I used the toy – removing nothing at all and stuck parts from a GW leman russ tank to the neck section. Also added the crew from a west wind berlin and bust tank commander and a Sarge mech pilot – to tie it in.

Sorry its been awhile – but i got the paint i needed now and can move on and finish the army. All i got left to paint up is 19 armoured infantry. This is my current WIP pics ( i run out of quickshade so going to basecoat the whole batch first)
Next post will hopefully be some pics of the test games me and leigh will be having – so for anyone else going to the tournament will get a sneaky glimpse at possible army lists

Hey all – here is my last to additions (for the time being) to my SOTR German army. As i mentioned in a previous SOTR post here are the Sniper team that look identical to Leigh’s – now be kind a disagree and say mine are better or be mean and agree…
The other piece is a Drop Trooper with flamer thrower – painted to mimic Jin Roh soldiers.

Since my current lack of army green undercoat – began painting some of my german units – first off my Tamiya 1/48 Tiger Tank
The paint job was literally a coat of grey super gloss spraypaint, tracks painted black and a liberal coat of quickshade.
You can pick these up for about £20 at your local hobbycraft – really nice kits – highly recommended

Me and Leigh are for the first time, going to the official Secrets of the Third Reich tournament at Derby in October. We are fairly new to this game so are still trying to paint through the armies we purchased at this years salute – i managed to get my USA army done and wasn’t too pleased with the outcome so i bought another army off Leigh to give the new and improved paint job – these are my initial completions – minus basing.
this is my converted medium Mecha -made from a AT-43 fire toad, a heroclix base and a Iltaleri sherman turret top
These were all painted by initially undercoating the models with army painter, army green spray paint. then picking out details with Vallejo paints. then finally shaded with a dip in Quickshade strong tone.
Now just got to get through the rest of the army:P
